🍁Hello September and Welcome Fall🍁

Happy Friday Everyone! For today’s “Fired Up Friday” blog post, I wanted to keep it super happy and simple by talking about something I truly love, the Fall Season. I wanted to explain why the Fall is my favorite time of year, as well as list just a few of my favorite things to do to during these next few months. Ooh and before I forget lol, I wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend. With that being said let’s get on with today’s post.

One of my favorite things about living in the northeast, (Connecticut to be specific), is that I get to experience all four seasons. By far, my absolute favorite season and time of the year, is the Fall ( from September-Mid November roughly). Now of course, part of the reason I love the Fall so much is due to my birthday being right in the beginning of September. However, the two main reasons I love this time of year (and although right up there, Halloween is one of them), the most are as follows. The first, is the intoxicating smell in the air that only happens as the days begin to get cooler and shorter. The second, is getting to see all the leaves change color and going for long drives to experience the natural beauty of the leaves changing.

I was fortunate enough to be blessed with two incredible parents that have always provided for me and wanted the best for me. Furthermore, they also wanted to make sure I had a proper education and that I went to one of the greatest schools in Connecticut. This meant that I was given the opportunity of growing up living in a wonderful town and a beautiful home. And seriously, as if it couldn’t get any better, the location of our family home was absolutely perfect, as it was directly off of a lake. By far, some of the best views and fondest memories I have of the Fall season, have come from that backyard. The best way for me to sum up what the view can be like is that it’s literally, like pictures you would find on Pinterest. Luckily, my beautiful parents still live in that home, which means, I am still lucky enough to be able to go and experience the beauty of all four seasons (the Fall of course, being my favorite). I am not mentioning any of this to come across as braggadocious, but instead, to try and give an honest description of what I’ve seen and still get to see. Whether visiting at my family’s home, going to a local apple orchard, or simply hoping in the car and going for long drives, the views are definitely one of the biggest reasons I love the Fall.

As for my other reason for why I love this time of year so much, it has to do with the undeniable smell in the air during the early morning and evening. In fact, one of my favorite things to do as the weather gets cooler, is to go for walks in the late afternoon/early evening. It’s the perfect time of day because people are either starting to light their fireplaces or small bonfires in their backyards. Between the smoky scent of a fireplace mixed with the natural smells of nature, it makes for a deeper, almost musky scent, that seriously, makes me so happy. And I know I’m not the only one that enjoys the scents of Autumn either, as every time I go into my local bath and body works around this time of year (although not as bad as during the holiday season lol), it’s like a mad house in there.

Lastly, I wanted to share with you just a few of the things I truly love to do during these next few months. Number one on this list, has to be going to bath and body works and stocking up on some of my absolute all time favorite Autumn themed scents. Those include but definitely not limited too, Crisp Morning Air, Leaves, Sweater Weather, Pumpkin Marshmallow Latte, Pumpkin Cupcake and I believe it’s called, Pumpkin Cinnamon Sugar Donuts (but don’t quote me on that last one lol).

Second, is going to my local target, marshalls, tjmaxx, and home goods (home sense if you live in Canada), so that I can change up my home décor to all thing Autumn. For example, LOTS of cozy blankets, my favorite Fall themed coffee mugs, fairy lights, and all the other great pieces you can find at your home décor shops. The next thing on the list would have to be going to a local Apple Orchard to pick apples and pumpkins; as well as pick up some fresh apple cider and apple cider donuts. I think it is an exactly activity for the whole family to participate in and is especially great if you have younger children. I’m currently drawing a total blank on the place not to far from where I am, but as soon as I am able to find out the name I will add it in. However, if you don’t live near this area, I would suggest to just look in your local newspaper or online for local apple orchards/events that your town may offer during this specific time of year.

For the last thing on this list, it’s going to be something that doesn’t require any money, can be done with things you have around the house, and also doesn’t necessarily require you going anywhere. It is simply spending time with those you love. If you are looking to an activity to do specifically, you can hop on Pinterest and look up all kinds of fun, Fall themed diy’s, that you can do with your family. And I promise there are tons of diy’s that you can do, simply with things you have around your home; (disclaimer: that doesn’t mean cutting up your mother’s favorite pillow or ruining anything in order to get the materials needed for the diy protects) (totally kidding with that disclaimer but I am also being somewhat serious, because I really don’t want anyone destroying anything in order to make this happen).

The most important part about this last thing, is making sure that you take some time to spend it with those you care about and that you don’t have to go and spend a ton of money, in order to make some pretty amazing memories. I also don’t believe that anyone needs a specific time of year as a reason, to see family. For me, I am fortunate enough that Autumn is also, one of my family’s favorite seasons. Which means, we are spending quite a lot more time all together; thus, causing me to have a ton of incredible memories from previous Autumn’s.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s “Fire Friday” blog post and I would love to read what you’re favorite season is in the comments section below. As well as, your top three all time favorite things to do during that season or specific time of year. Thank You again for taking the time to read my blog post, and please don’t forget to check out the other talented ladies that are part of #WIYC, and their posts as well. I hope everyone enjoys this long holiday weekend that is finally here!
